What is the Long Gymnasium ? What is the ZAP ?
The Long Gymnasium is a gymnasium education, which lasts six years and follows the 6th grade of elementary school. It consists of two parts. Namely, a two-year education in the lower level and a four-year education in the baccalaureate level. The Matura level is equivalent to the short Gymnasium and leads to a recognized Matura according to the Federal Matura Regulations (MAR).

What are the requirements for the exam into a long high school?
Candidates can register for the central entrance examination (ZAP) for a long grammar school Register if they meet the following requirements:
- attend the 6th primary school class,
- have reached the age of 15 after May 31 of the year of entry.
The next Langgymnasium examination will take place on March 3, 2025. In the canton of Zurich, Registration is used for the entrance examination via the central entrance examination platform.
